Troubleshooting

If you try to open a PhotoJazz image file with Illustrator and the PhotoJazz image file does not show up in the Open dialog, or you get the error message:

Could not read the file because an error has occurred.
then PhotoJazz may not have been properly installed.

On a Power Macintosh, make sure that:

  1. The BitJazz shared library (or a valid alias to it) is in the "System Folder:Extensions" folder or in the "Adobe Illustrator" folder.
  2. The PhotoJazz Plug-In (or a valid alias to it) is in the "Adobe Illustrator:Plug-ins" folder.

If not, reinstall PhotoJazz 2 with InstallPhotoJazz or install these items by hand, restart the computer, and try again. If you still experience problems, please contact BitJazz Customer Service at servicebitjazz.com.

In Windows, make sure that:

  1. A copy of the BitJazz.dll dynamically linked library is in the "Windows\system32" folder or in the "Program Files\Adobe\Illustrator" folder.
  2. A copy of the PhotoJazz.8bi Plug-In is in the "Program Files\Adobe\Illustrator\Plug-ins" folder.

If not, reinstall PhotoJazz 2 with PhotoJazzSetup.exe or install these items by hand, restart the computer, and try again. If you still experience problems, please contact BitJazz Customer Service at servicebitjazz.com.
