PhotoJazz™ is a set of tools that let you compress photo-quality digital images and movie frames, and later expand them with zero loss in image quality. The compressed images take up less space on disk and take less time to transmit over a network, and therefore cost less to store and transmit. Unlike JPEG, which always degrades the image (see "JPEG Lossiness" for a discussion), PhotoJazz always compresses and decompresses with perfect fidelity, so that the expanded image is bit-for-bit identical with the original. For photo-quality images, PhotoJazz achieves a significantly higher perfect-fidelity compression power than any other product on the market (see "PhotoJazz Lossless RGB Image Compression Statistics" for details).

BitJazz Tools consists of:

	BitJazz™, the state-of-the-art perfect-fidelity compression engine, implemented as a shared-library system extension or dynamically linked library used by all BitJazz Tools and third-party PhotoJazz-enabled plug-ins and applications.
	PhotoJazz™ QT, a set of QuickTime components that import, decompress, compress, and export perfect-fidelity compressed PhotoJazz image files and movie frames, used by all applications that subscribe to the QuickTime Movie or Still Image protocols.
	PhotoJazz™, an Adobe® Photoshop® image file format plug-in module that opens and saves perfect-fidelity compressed PhotoJazz image files. The PhotoJazz plug-in is compatible with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe ImageReady, and Adobe ImageStyler.
	PhotoJazz™ XT, a QuarkXPress™ image file format XTensions™ module that opens perfect-fidelity compressed PhotoJazz image files. The PhotoJazz XT extension is compatible with QuarkXPress.
