Opening


Once PhotoJazz is properly installed, you can open PhotoJazz images and PhotoJazz QuickTime movies (even from the Internet), add PhotoJazz image files or PhotoJazz QuickTime movies to a movie, import PhotoJazz image files, and open sequences of PhotoJazz images, just as you can for any other image types and movie types supported by QuickTime Player.

Image Opening: To open a PhotoJazz image with QuickTime Player:

  1. Select File > Open Movie… in QuickTime Player to open the Open dialog.
  2. In Windows, set the 'Files of type:' pop-up menu to 'Image Files'.
  3. Select the PhotoJazz image.
  4. Click Open to open the image.

or

  1. Select File > Import… in QuickTime Player to open the Open dialog.
  2. In Windows, set the 'Files of type:' pop-up menu to 'Image Files'.
  3. Select the PhotoJazz image.
  4. Click Convert to open the image.

Movies

To open a PhotoJazz QuickTime movie with QuickTime Player:

  1. Select File > Open Movie… in QuickTime Player to open the Open dialog.
  2. Select the PhotoJazz QuickTime movie.
  3. Click OK to open the movie.

or
  1. Drag the PhotoJazz QuickTime movie's file icon and drop it on QuickTime Player's application icon in the Macintosh Finder or Windows Explorer.

Image Sequences

To add all sequentially numbered PhotoJazz image files in a folder:

  1. Select File > Open Image Sequence… in QuickTime Player to open the Open dialog.
  2. Select any PhotoJazz image file in the sequence.
  3. Click Open to open the sequence of PhotoJazz image files as a movie or slide show.
  4. Select the desired frame rate in the Image Sequence Settings dialog.
  5. Click OK.

Internet

To open a PhotoJazz image or movie from the Internet with QuickTime Player:

  1. Select File > Open URL… in QuickTime Player to open the Open URL dialog.
  2. Paste or type in the URL of the PhotoJazz image or movie.
  3. Click OK to open the image or movie.

Adding

QuickTime Player will replace the current image or movie with the newly selected image or movie unless you have checked Open movie in new player in the General Preferences dialog.

To insert a PhotoJazz image or movie into an open movie or slide show:

  1. Set the movie time indicator in QuickTime Player's movie controller to the position at which to insert the image or movie.
  2. Drag the file icon of the PhotoJazz image or movie onto QuickTime Player's movie pane.

While QuickTime Player is opening the PhotoJazz image, the PhotoJazz decompressor's progressive display feature displays the tiles on the fly as they are decompressed.

If the PhotoJazz image file has been corrupted, whether due to storage medium failure or transmission errors, the data integrity verification feature of the PhotoJazz plug-in will tell you as soon as it detects evidence of corruption.
