Adobe After Effects
Optimization: Display

Currently, SheerVideo does not perform any operation that would cause loss of image information, other than pixel-format conversion. Therefore, for maximum playback speed, you should:

  • Set your display to Billions of Colors (for RGB[A] 10bf only), Millions of Colors, or Thousands of Colors, never to 256 Colors or fewer, and never to Grayscale. Thousands of Colors is fastest, but sacrifices too much precision for many purposes.
  • Display the composition at Full Resolution and use Square Pixels to avoid scaling.
  • Ensure that the entire image area of the window is visible on a single screen, with no other windows or palettes obscuring any part of it, in order to avoid cropping and masking.
