SheerVideo User Manual InstallationManual Installation
To install SheerVideo Pro manually,
-
Quit any applications in which you will be using SheerVideo.
Although QuickTime is specially designed to be able to update components on the fly,
some applications, such as Adobe After Effects and Apple Final Cut Pro,
are not designed to take advantage of this capability.

Read and accept the license agreement.
If you don't agree to the terms of the license, destroy your copy of SheerVideo Pro.

Copy the SheerVideo QuickTime components
from the Installer Files folder in this installation package
into the appropriate directory:

In Mac OS X,

For user-specific installation,
copy the file SheerVideo HD Pro.component
into the /Users/username/Library/QuickTime/ folder on your startup disk.
If the QuickTime folder does not already exist, you will need to create it.

For system-wide installation,
copy the file SheerVideo HD Pro.component
into the /Library/QuickTime/ folder on your startup disk.
You need administrator privileges to do this.

In Mac OS 9 and earlier Mac OS versions,
copy the file SheerVideo HD Pro
into the System Folder:Extensions:QuickTime Extensions: folder on your startup disk.

In Windows XP, Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows Me,
copy the file SheerVideo Pro.qtx
into the \Windows\System32\QuickTime\ folder on your startup disk.
If the QuickTime folder does not exist, you first need to install QuickTime.

In Windows '95 and Windows '98,
copy the file SheerVideo Pro.qtx
into the \Windows\System\QuickTime\ folder on your startup disk.
If the QuickTime folder does not exist, you first need to install QuickTime.

On the Mac, copy the Update SheerVideo Pro application
from the Installer Files folder in this installation package
into the appropriate directory:

In Mac OS X,

For user-specific installation,
copy the file Update SheerVideo HD Pro
into the /Users/username/Library/Application Support/ folder on your startup disk.
If the Application Support folder does not already exist, you will need to create it.

For system-wide installation,
copy the file Update SheerVideo HD Pro
into the /Library/Application Support/ folder on your startup disk.
You need administrator privileges to do this.

In Mac OS 9 and earlier Mac OS versions,
copy the file Update SheerVideo HD Pro
into the System Folder:Application Support: folder on your startup disk.

If you use Adobe After Effects 6.0 or higher,
copy the file SheerVideo.jsx
from the Installer Files folder in this installation package
into the Startup folder inside the Scripts folder inside your Adobe After Effects folder.

On the Mac, if you use Apple Final Cut Pro,
install the appropriate SheerVideo Easy Setups for Final Cut Pro.

In Windows and Mac OS 8 or 9, you may need to restart your computer before applications can use SheerVideo.
This is not necessary for Mac OS X .
