To use SheerVideo with QuickTime Player, simply run the SheerVideo Pro Installer, which installs the Sheer codecs in the QuickTime folder for QuickTime Player and other QuickTime applications to use. No additional installation is required.

In Mac OS X, QuickTime Player can use the SheerVideo codecs as soon as you have run the SheerVideo Installer or manually copied SheerVideo.qtx into the Library/QuickTime folder on your start-up disk.

In Windows, after you run the SheerVideo Installer or manually copy SheerVideo.qtx into the \Windows\System32\QuickTime (NT, 2000, Me, XP, Vista) or \Windows\System\QuickTime ('95, '98) folder on your startup disk, you must restart your computer before QuickTime Player can use the SheerVideo codecs.

Likewise, in Mac OS 9 and earlier Mac OS versions, after you run the SheerVideo Installer or manually copy the SheerVideo system extension into the System Folder:Extensions folder on your start-up disk, you must restart your computer before QuickTime Player can use the SheerVideo codecs.
