In fact, SheerVideo even has an optional self-check mode that decodes each frame immediately after encoding it and compares the restored image to the original to verify that it is bit-for-bit identical. In both encoding and decoding, SheerVideo is 100% exact, without any information loss, noise, approximation, artifacts, or other errors whatsoever. In contrast to destructive codecs such as Photo JPEG, Motion JPEG, DV, DigiBeta, and MPEG, which degrade the video on every compression and every decompression, using SheerVideo nondestructive image compression the restored picture is always absolutely identical to the original, with zero generational loss forever. Moreover, SheerVideo is the only lossless QuickTime codec that compresses native video formats. So SheerVideo is exactly like uncompressed video, only twice as fast and twice as slim.

And with the new Synchromy functionality, SheerVideo can convert images between RGB spectral formats and Y'CbCr video formats with unrivalled accuracy.
